Day 28 - Romero Canyon

Wendy and Emma on Romero Wash. To Emma, this is pretty much the same as a day at the beach.

The scars of a hard life.

Today's Mystery Poo. Today, we found many examples of this Mystery Poo, all appearing to have been pooed on rocks. We think it's the work of the Legendary Desert Rock Poo Monster. Emma is skeptical of this conclusion, but what does she know? She's a dog.

An amazingly lush hanging swamp in the middle of the desert. Twenty feet up the bank, back to the Saguaro Cactus.

Russ ascends from the canyon while Emma keeps a watchful eye.

The Poo Monster strikes again - but this is the very tricky optical reversal poo. Any of our students who completed Term 1 should get this right away - or within a few seconds at most.

The lush Saguaro cactus garden - fleets of gardeners tend to this daily - really. Not.

Emma awaits at the top of the canyon trail. There's too many spinky prickly cacti along the route. Emma's not too smart about 'dem prickly things.

A tiny desert dweller - great camo!

Death of a prickly pear.

The river in Romero Canyon runs out of gas right here and disappears back into the desert. It's pretty weird to see a river just stop dead - the Okavango River in Botswana does exactly this - but this time, it's probably not a Government Conspiracy. Tomorrow is Election Day, and we'll see lots of the latter.

This is one location I'm scouting for a 24 hour sunstreak for tomorrow. It's in our side yard.
